Meet the Real NATO!
NATO claims to stand for “security, cooperation among nations, and peace keeping.” The US and its allies try to hide behind the mask of these nice-sounding words . . . but when you look closely at NATO’s actions under US direction, and the disparity between the favored group of NATO “insiders” vs. the rest of the world, it becomes clear what NATO really stands for:
INSECURITY … unless you’re “one of us” ….
NATO’s roots stem from WWII in Europe, but its reach dominated by the hand of the U.S. ,has expanded dramatically in the last two decades. With just a fraction of the world’s population, NATO countries wield 75% of the world’s weapons, with the US military by far the largest. NATO is a military alliance of the world’s richest super-power, the US, and old colonial powers England, Germany, and France, together with other European countries. Its mission? To maintain US and Western global dominance, especially in the Middle East and South Asia. The message of NATO is clear: “If you’re part of the club, you’re safe. But if you’re not one of us … WATCH OUT!”

VIOLENCE … if you don’t “do it our way”….
NATO talks about “cooperation among nations,” and NATO engages in high-powered PR to try to put that image across. They even have fancy names for their charades, like “Istanbul Cooperation Initiative” and “Mediterranean Dialogue” and “Partnership for Peace.” But actions speak louder than words. If you’re not an “insider,” here’s the kind of”cooperation” that the US and NATO are interested in:
NATO bombardment of Libya
THREATS … you do the math …!
Everything NATO does is predicated on the threat of massive superiority in weapons – especially nuclear weapons. (See reverse side.) Whether the U.S. and NATO countries are engaged in explicit threats and sanctions, as currently being used against Iran, or the implicit use of force, no one who can count has any doubt about where the real threat of military attack is coming from.

How would you like your bombardment served?
NATO tries to portray itself as a “peace keeper,” giving cover to US aggression, such as against Afghanistan. But is that really how the rest of the world sees the US and NATO? US military might is greater than ALL other countries in the world combined and, together with other NATO countries, it controls the vast preponderance of the world’s military power. With its “might makes right” posture, NATO confronts the countries unfortunate enough to be on the “outside” with the constant threat of injury. For those who don’t “cooperate” or who stand in the way of US/Western plans, NATO’s response is death and destruction.
If that were not enough, just look at the way the US uses NATO to deploy nuclear weapons to supposedly non-nuclear countries:
Under NATO nuclear weapons sharing, the United States has provided nuclear weapons for Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Turkey to deploy and store. This involves pilots and other staff of the “non-nuclear” NATO states practicing, handling, and delivering the U.S. nuclear bombs, and adapting non-U.S. warplanes to deliver U.S. nuclear bombs. …. Members of the Non-Aligned Movement have called on all countries to “refrain from nuclear sharing for military purposes under any kind of security arrangements.” (Source: Wikipedia)
That means that the rest of the world is threatened by both the 1,950 active and 8,500 total nuclear warheads in the U.S. arsenal, and by the potential deployment of those weapons by the five states currently “sharing” those weapons with the United States, but also potentially with other_ members of NATO in the near future. (All of this, of course, is in addition to the nuclear arsenals of NATO member states UK (160 active, 225 total) and France (290 active, 300 total).)
It is startling to remember these THOUSANDS of nuclear weapons that the US spreads to other countries through NATO when we are being exposed to daily newspaper articles about the threats and sanctions being deployed and military attacks contemplated against Iran, based on the surmise that Iran may be thinking about the possibility of obtaining a nuclear weapon, for which there is no evidence whatsoever.
